If I didn’t have the money from some recent gifts from a celebration, probably not. The Garmin Forerunner 945 has pretty much the same functions as the Garmin Fenix 6 series, but in a lightweight package. It’s loaded with all the newest training functions and also has a built-in map with real navigation, Garmin Music, and Garmin Pay. The reduction in compliance from the silicon can also really change the way you interact with the watch, which is something to consider. The Garmin Forerunner 945 is currently the best training watch on the market. However a connect IQ watchface by Garmin is NOT the same as a stock watchface and could use as much battery as a good third party one like Crystal. I will say though, the lug width is a little too wide for both the stock and heathered band, which IMO is fucking unacceptable at the price point for both pieces, even if it’s only a small gap. I think one of the better ones by Garmin is home-fit thrill: /./94cca83e-5c4f-45c1-97ba-db2754612133. The Forerunner 45 is great for beginners or individuals looking for a no-nonsense interface. can understand your body better and form healthy habits that work for you. Best for Beginners: Garmin Forerunner 45.
I think the black heathered looks fantastic with my 6x sapphire, and quality as far as I can tell seems good (but I have little frame of reference). Change the watch face to match your current mood and feel confident in any.
I still use the silicon when I do workout or know I’ll be particularly active that day. I also knew it would breath a little better when not working out. I also wanted something that looks a little nicer for work. Stock Garmin face with the hands that have the details around the edge, and training status/VO2 behind the hands. I got it because at 850 USD, I think I can spend more on a Garmin band than a cheaper one that may break and have one of my more expensive possessions plunge to the ground.
